Healing for adult survivors of child sexual abuse is a crucial part of ending rape culture and preventing sexual violence. Yet, many adult survivors of child sex abuse (CSA) feel like healing resources are not accessible for survivors with non-narrative, body memories of sexual violence. The mainstream movement to end and prevent child sexual abuse creates little space for survivors who have non-narrative memories of the abuse they experienced, as there is much focus on reporting and being able to tell “your story”. Centering the voices of survivors from around the world who write to her to say, “I’ve never told anyone this, not even my therapist, but…”, Alisa will share what CSA survivors without narrative memories most want professionals in the field to understand about their survivorship in order to offer better strategies in prevention and healing.
