Leah Aldridge’s relationship with ValorUS began as a Women of Color Caucus member in the early 1990s while working at a local member rape crisis center program. A longtime supporter of the coalition, Leah would eventually serve as a board member and consultant before joining the staff as a Program Manager in 2016. She is an educator, facilitator, and trainer on the multi-disciplinary issues of interpersonal violence for diverse populations. Media and policy advocacy are among Leah’s additional skills having consulted on numerous media projects, videos, and campaigns. She co-authored Women of Color Leadership: A Look at the Experiences of Women of Color Executives in the Anti-Violence Against Women’s Movement for the Women Of Color Network funded by the Ms. Foundation (2013); and, was the consultant and co-author of VALOR report Reciprocal Advancement: Building Linkages Between Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Leah is an Assistant Professor of Film Studies at Chapman University and holds a Ph.D. in Cinema and Media from the University of Southern California.
